HEARTBREAKING: Two Teachers of Konongo Odumase M/A Basic School Die on Same Day School Re-Opened.
Tragedy has struck Konongo Odumase M/A Basic School as two of its teachers passed away on the same day academic activities resumed.
According to reports from the school and community members, Mr. Francis Aguah, popularly known as ‘General,’ had been unwell during the vacation period. His condition reportedly worsened, and he passed away on Tuesday morning, the very day schools reopened for the new term.
In a devastating turn of events, news of Mr. Aguah’s death reached his colleague, Madam Grace Stepheny, affectionately called ‘Obaamua’ by pupils and staff. Sources say she collapsed upon hearing the news. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
The double loss has thrown the Konongo Odumase community into mourning. Pupils, teachers, and parents described both educators as dedicated and beloved members of the school.
“General was disciplined and fatherly to the students. Obaamua was a mother to all of us,” one teacher, who asked not to be named, said. “To lose both of them on reopening day is beyond heartbreaking.”
The headteacher of the school is yet to issue an official statement. Counsellors have been called in to support students and staff as they process news
The exact causes of death for both teachers have not yet been confirmed by medical authorities. Family members of the deceased have been informed, and funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in the coming days.
The Ghana Education Service in the Asante Akim Central Municipality is said to be aware of the incident.
