Ahafo Ano South West DCE Monitors Key Projects, Urges Speed and Quality Execution

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq, has undertaken his first official district-wide inspection tour since assuming office, visiting several ongoing development projects to assess progress and ensure quality delivery.

The tour forms part of the DCE’s commitment to strengthening supervision and accountability in the execution of government-funded projects across the district.

It also aims to address delays, identify challenges on-site, and engage contractors directly to ensure that projects are completed within stipulated timelines.

During the exercise, Hon. Sadiq inspected a number of critical infrastructure projects spanning the education, health, water, sanitation, and community development sectors.

Among the projects visited were a six-unit classroom block at Manhyia, a borehole facility at Asukor to improve access to potable water, and a classroom store at Mpassaso No. 2.

The DCE also toured a community centre project at Mpassaso No. 1, which is expected to serve as a hub for social and community activities, as well as a three-unit classroom block at Mpasaaso Oseikrom aimed at enhancing teaching and learning conditions for pupils in the area.

In the health sector, Hon. Sadiq inspected the ongoing Wioso Health Centre project, which includes male, female, children’s, and isolation wards.

The facility, when completed, is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery and accessibility for residents within Wioso and its surrounding communities.

Additionally, the inspection covered the construction of a 12-seater toilet facility at Barniekrom, a project targeted at improving sanitation and promoting public health in the area.

Addressing contractors and site engineers during the tour, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq expressed concern over the pace of work on some projects and urged contractors to expedite construction to meet agreed deadlines.

He emphasized that government remains committed to ensuring the timely completion of all ongoing projects to benefit the people of the district.

He further assured contractors that funding for the various projects has been secured and is readily available, removing any financial constraints that could hinder progress.

According to him, contractors who deliver quality work within schedule will receive prompt payments, adding that the Assembly will not hesitate to enforce sanctions where necessary to ensure compliance.

The DCE reiterated his administration’s focus on infrastructure development as a key driver of socio-economic growth in the district, stressing that the successful completion of these projects will enhance education, healthcare, sanitation, and general living standards of residents.

Also speaking during the inspection, the supervising engineer, Engineer Beatrice Afia Boakye, reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that all projects are executed in line with required specifications and standards.

She assured that strict monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to guarantee quality work and timely completion.

The inspection tour is expected to be a routine exercise as the District Assembly intensifies efforts to fast-track development and ensure that all projects deliver maximum impact for the people of Ahafo Ano South West.
