Shock in Ampabame No. 1 as Respected Primary School Teacher Found Dead
The community of Ampabame No. 1 in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region has been thrown into a state of mourning following the death of a primary school teacher.
The deceased has been identified as Mr. Kwame Oduro, believed to be in his late 40s, a teacher at the Ampabame No. 1 Primary School.
Mr. Oduro was described by residents as a well-known, respected and dedicated teacher with a peaceful disposition.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, September 12.
Sources indicate that Mr. Oduro was at home with his wife when he stepped outside. After he did not return for some time, his wife went to look for him and found him unresponsive.
He was later pronounced dead. His body has since been conveyed to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
The news of his death has left residents, fellow teachers and pupils in deep shock.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
The Police have commenced investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death. Until investigations are concluded and an official determination is made by the relevant authorities, the circumstances remain unclear.
