We can’t work with a chairman who pulls a gun and a shocker on his executives

The branch executives of the Sofoline lorry terminal at the Kwadaso Municipality in the Ashanti Region, who serve as delegates for electing the overall chairman, have confirmed the removal of Mr. Albert Boamah from his position as overall chairman.

Chairman Boamah, who has served in this capacity for nearly 20 years, was removed due to multiple instances of misconduct that have tarnished the terminal’s reputation.

According to Hon. Stephen Kwame Kwakye, a branch chairman and former assembly member, the decision to remove Mr. Boamah was triggered by two alarming incidents: the former chairman allegedly used a shocker on one of his executives and, just days later, pulled a gun on another.

In response, the 21 branch executives convened an emergency meeting and conducted a vote of no confidence. Out of 21, 20 voted in favor of his removal, with one abstention.

Looking ahead, Hon. Stephen Kwame Kwakye explained that the 21 branch chairmen have appointed Mr. Charles Kwesi Adusie, also known as Chairman Adusie and formerly the vice chairman under Mr. Boamah, as the acting chairman. Chairman Adusie, along with other appointed officers, will manage the terminal’s affairs for the next six months.

During this period, they are tasked with developing new rules and a revised constitution to prepare for fresh elections.

The newly appointed acting chairman, Chairman Adusie, acknowledged the significant responsibility ahead but expressed confidence that, with the support of his team, they would achieve their goals.
