“Treat Your Children Well, Or Regret It Later” – Dwenedabihene Tells AME Zoin Women’s Fellowship
OFFINSO – Nana Osei Bediako, the Dwenedabihene of Offinso, has urged parents to raise their children with love and discipline to avoid future pain and regret.
Speaking as leader of the Dwenedabi Mmre team at the AME Zion Women’s Fellowship program over the weekend, Nana Osei Bediako said how children are treated today shapes the kind of adults they become tomorrow.
“Treat your children well so that you may not be in despair in future”, he told the gathering. “A child you neglect, insult, or push away today will remember it when you are old and weak. But a child raised with care and values will be your support and pride.”
The Dwenedabihene stressed that “well” does not mean spoiling children. It means correcting them in love, listening to them, providing for their needs, and setting a good example. He warned against verbal abuse, favoritism, and abandoning parental responsibility.
Members of the AME Zion Women’s Fellowship received the message with nods and amens. Many said the talk reminded them that parenting is an investment – the returns come later in life.
Nana Osei Bediako closed by encouraging mothers and caregivers, asking for wisdom and patience as they raise the next generation of Offinsoman and beyond
