E/R: YOUNG MAN ALLEGEDLY STABS FRIEND TO DEATH OVER LONG-STANDING DISPUTE AT AKOKOASO

A young man identified as Adu Gyan, believed to be in his twenties, has allegedly stabbed his friend, Nii Rich, to death following a misunderstanding that reportedly began two years ago at Akyem Akokoaso in the Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region.

According to information reaching Atenahene Kwabena Apam, the fatal incident occurred on Friday during the One-year observation ceremony of their deceased friend whose death has caused the rift between the two men.

Reports indicate the long-standing disagreement between the two men resurfaced during the gathering, resulting in a heated confrontation.

An eyewitness, Edward, who confirmed the incident, said attempts were made by mourners and friends present to separate the two and prevent a fight.

However, the situation escalated, and Adu Gyan allegedly stabbed Nii Rich in the stomach.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Akokoaso Health Center and later transferred to Oda Government Hospital for medical treatment.

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Saturday morning.

Following the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the community but was later apprehended by the community youth and handed over to the police.

Authorities have since launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
