Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah Wins Youth Commendation as 2026 Easter Football Gala Spurs Talent Growth in Offinso North.

Offinso North, Ashanti Region of Ghana – More than 1,000 young people in the Offinso North Constituency have praised Member of Parliament Hon Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah for organizing the 2026 Legacy Inter-Zonal Easter Football Gala, describing the event as a major avenue for opportunity and exposure.

The 2026 edition is the third time the MP has held the games, but participants said this year’s inter-zonal gala was the largest yet.

Teams from all zones in the district took part, with both male and female sides competing for honours.

The men’s team that lifted the trophy received GH₵18,000, while the winning ladies’ team took home GH₵5,000 along with medals.

Outstanding players from both divisions were also presented with individual awards for their performances.

To encourage broad participation, every team that appeared at the tournament was given GH₵1,000 as an appearance fee.

Speaking after the finals, players and supporters said the gala has grown beyond entertainment and now serves as motivation for the youth to develop their talents.

Many described it as a legacy initiative by Dr. Kyei Asamoah that is giving young people in the district access and visibility they previously lacked.

Community leaders highlighted the MP’s consistency in staging the Easter games for three straight years, adding that the investment is already helping to unearth hidden talent and build unity across Offinso North District.

Organizers and youth groups are now calling on corporate bodies and stakeholders to partner with them to expand the reach of future editions of the Legacy Inter-Zonal Easter Football Gala.
