NYA Empowers Offinso Youth with National Apprenticeship Program

The National Youth Authority (NYA) has taken a significant step towards empowering the youth in Offinso, Ashanti Region, with the distribution of equipment to beneficiaries of the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP).

The ceremony, held at the Offinso Municipal Assembly Yard, brought together key stakeholders, including Offinso Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah.

Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah the MCE for Offinso South Municipal commended the President and National Youth Authority for their commitment to youth development, saying the program is a strategic intervention aimed at reducing unemployment and promoting self-reliance among young people.

“This program is designed to equip our youth with the skills and tools necessary to succeed in today’s economy,” he said.

The District Director of NYA noted that the equipment distribution marks the implementation of NAP in the municipality, a move expected to boost youth skills and entrepreneurship.

The program is part of the government’s efforts to address unemployment and promote economic growth.

The beneficiaries, who were selected from various communities in Offinso, received equipment in various trades, including hairdressing, tailoring, and mechanics.

They expressed gratitude to the government and NYA for the opportunity, saying it would help them become self-employed and contribute to the development of their communities.
