“Denugu Gets New Chief: Naab Kosong I Pledges Unity and Progress”.
Denugu, Ghana – A new chapter has unfolded in Denugu Traditional Area with the enskinment of Chief Inspector I.K. Winnam Kosong I, also known as Naab C/Inspr. I.K. Winnam Kosong I, as the new Chief.
The ceremony, held on February 25, 2026, marked a significant milestone in the community’s history, signaling a fresh start and renewed hope for the people of Denugu.
In his acceptance speech, Naab Kosong I emphasized the importance of unity, development, and collective effort in propelling Denugu forward.
“This is not a personal victory, but a victory for Denugu,” he declared. “It is a call to service, a call to unity, and a call to purposeful leadership for the progress of our land.”
The new chief outlined his vision for Denugu, prioritizing poverty eradication, education, entrepreneurship, and security.
He pledged to work with integrity, transparency, and fairness, and to engage with all stakeholders to drive development.
“We must rise with one voice and one vision to defeat our common enemy, poverty,” Naab Kosong I emphasized.
Naab Kosong I, a Sub Divisional Chief of Denugu Traditional Area, holds a Professional Certificate in MTTD from the Ghana Police Service, with postings in Takoradi, Cape Coast, and Twifo Praso.
He also acquired a Certificate in Leadership from the Presbyterian University, Ghana.
The enskinment ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Batt Maj. (Dr.) Sylvester F. A. Tintaangobr I, Divisional Chief of Denugu, sub-chiefs, and special guests.
Naab Kosong I expressed gratitude to his supporters and acknowledged the presence of external families, including those from Zaare-Boku, who demonstrated solidarity and unity.
As Denugu embarks on this new journey, Naab Kosong I has extended an invitation to all to join hands in building a prosperous community for generations to come. “My arms are open to everyone,” he said.
“Come, let us build a prosperous Denugu for ourselves and for generations yet unborn.”
