Ashanti Caucus Appeals for Completion of Key Highway Project

The Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon Francis Asenso Boakye, and his colleagues from the Ashanti caucus have made a passionate appeal to the government to prioritize the completion of the Accra-Kumasi highway project, which was initiated by the previous administration.

The project, a crucial component of the Big PUSH bill, aims to improve the region’s road network and alleviate heavy traffic flows.

Asenso Boakye emphasized that Ashanti Region is the second-largest business hub in the country, with the existing road network struggling to accommodate growing vehicular demands.

He urged the government to maintain the original four-tier infrastructural system, warning that condensing it into a two-tier system would undermine the project’s effectiveness

The Ashanti caucus believes that completing this project is vital for regional development and mobility.

Asenso Boakye had previously expressed concerns about the government’s plan to start a new expressway project, questioning the feasibility and funding for such an initiatives.
