SCA Starts Year with Prayer and Renewed Purpose: “Called to Serve”

Safe-Child Advocacy (SCA) has kicked off the year with a powerful Opening Mass, dedicating their efforts to God and expressing heartfelt gratitude for His guidance.

The celebration, held at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, served as a prayer for continued dominion over their mission and activities.

Rev. Msgr. Gabriel Acheampong, Administrator of St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica and Chairman of SCA’s Board, reflected on the theme of service and vocation, urging attendees to live out their calling with diligence and faithfulness. “Whether as a priest, religious sister, or in married life, we are all called to serve,” he said.

The SCA team, led by Sr. Olivia Umoh, DC, Director of SCA, gathered alongside volunteers, beneficiaries, and staff from St. Vincent de Paul Day Care to renew their commitment to serving vulnerable children, youth, and women.

“With God’s grace and support, we’ll create safe spaces, restore dignity, and empower lives,” says SCA.

The organization looks forward to another year of impactful service and transformative change, empowering communities and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
