Ohene Kwame Frimpong Still In Amsterdam Custody After Bail Applications Rejected – Dafeamekpor

The Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, has disclosed that the MP for Asante Akyem North, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, remains in custody in Amsterdam after two attempts to secure his release on bail failed.

According to Mr Dafeamekpor, the legal team filed two bail applications before the Dutch authorities, but both were rejected, leaving the MP in custody as he awaits an extradition hearing scheduled for November 18, 2026.

Speaking during a leadership briefing with the press, the Majority Chief Whip said the substantive extradition proceedings would determine whether Mr Frimpong should be sent to the United States to face the allegations against him.

He was emphatic that the MP had not been extradited to the United States, contrary to reports suggesting that such a decision had already been taken.

Mr Dafeamekpor explained that the legal process was still ongoing in the Netherlands and that the outcome of the November 18 hearing, or any subsequent proceedings, would be communicated to the public.
