BREAKING: ShattaFest UK Cancelled After Serious Incident Outside Venue – Shatta Wale Management Issues Official Statement

Accra / London – August 2, 2026- The highly anticipated ShattaFest UK, headlined by Ghanaian dancehall king Shatta Wale, has been cancelled following a serious incident outside the event venue in North London.

The management of Shatta Wale and the Shatta Movement Empire confirmed the cancellation in an official press statement released Saturday night.

“It is with a very heavy heart that we address the unfortunate events surrounding SHATTAFEST UK.

Following reports of a serious incident outside the venue, the difficult decision was made to cancel the event.

Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of every single person who came to celebrate music, unity, and love,” the statement read.

The event, which was staged as part of the annual Ghana Party in the Park at Copthall Playing Fields in Barnet, was headlined this year by Shatta Wale and was expected to attract over 10,000 fans from across the UK and Europe.

According to UK media reports, the festival was “temporarily paused” after an overcrowding issue and crush at the main entrance where bag and security searches were taking place.

Footage from the scene showed dozens of emergency vehicles, including air ambulances, at the site. Witnesses told The Sun that several people were stretchered away.

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed officers attended the scene due to an “overcrowding issue at the entrance” and stated that “several people sustained non-life-threatening injuries”.

Shatta Wale’s management, however, noted they have received unconfirmed reports of injuries and alleged loss of lives, and are awaiting official confirmation.

“Our hearts are with everyone who has been affected by this tragic situation. We are deeply saddened by the reports of injuries and the alleged loss of lives.

While we await official confirmation from the relevant authorities regarding all the facts, our thoughts and prayers remain with the individuals involved, their families, their friends, and everyone impacted by this heartbreaking incident,” the release stated.

The management appealed to the public and media to avoid speculation while investigations are ongoing, and expressed appreciation to emergency services, security personnel, medical teams, and venue staff who responded swiftly.

To fans who travelled from near and far, the team said: “We are deeply grateful for your support, your patience, and your understanding during this incredibly difficult time.”

Shatta Wale and the entire Shatta Movement family say they remain committed to cooperating fully with relevant authorities and event partners to understand exactly what happened.

The statement concluded with a solemn note:

“This is not the outcome anyone wished for. Today, our focus is not on a concert , it is on the people whose lives have been affected.

We ask everyone to keep the victims, their loved ones, and all those impacted in your prayers.”

The organizers of Ghana Party in the Park had earlier posted that attendees should not travel to the venue until further notice due to a “major incident.”

No official death toll has been confirmed by UK Police or the London Ambulance Service as of press time.
