The Base Ghana First Storms Kumasi Streets to Register Supporters Amid Rising Youth Discontent

The ‘Base’ Ghana first Storms Kumasi Streets to Register Supporters Amid Rising Youth Discontent

“The Base Ghana first ” has taken to the streets of Kumasi to register eligible Ghanaians, particularly targeting traders and unemployed youth, as part of efforts to expand its support base.

The group, which is gradually gaining attention across parts of the country, believes that Ghana’s dominant political parties the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress have over the years failed to adequately address critical issues affecting citizens, especially in the areas of job creation and infrastructure development.

Moving through key commercial areas in Kumasi, members of the  base Ghana  first engaged traders and young people, urging them to join what they describe as a “new direction” for the country.

According to the group, the rising levels of unemployment and the struggles of small-scale businesses are clear signs that a different approach to governance is needed.

Supporters of the the base Ghana first  say their focus is on empowering the youth, improving local economies, and pushing for policies that prioritize Ghanaian interests first.

Many of the individuals being registered expressed frustration over limited job opportunities and slow development in their communities, noting that successive governments have not met their expectations.

Although the base Ghana First  is still in its early stages, its growing street-level visibility, especially in major cities like Kumasi, signals a potential shift in political engagement among sections of the youth and informal sector.
