Offinso South Launches PM Cup and “Red Means Stop” to Tackle Drug Abuse Among Youth

The Offinso South Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the traditional council, has launched the PM Cup at Abofour Dumansua school park, a maiden inter-community soccer competition aimed at promoting drug abstinence and resistance education among the youth and the good people of offinso municipal assembly and beyond.

The tournament features teams from various communities within the municipality and seeks to educate young people about the dangers of drug abuse.

Coinciding with the PM Cup launch, the National Youth Authority under the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has introduced the “Red Means Stop” campaign, a drug abstinence and resistance education initiative.

The campaign emphasizes three key messages: _Just say no to drugs_, _Stay healthy_, and _Desist from violence and crime_.

The “Red Means Stop” campaign is part of efforts by the PM Cup to facilitate national youth development and encourage positive lifestyle choices.

These initiatives demonstrate the commitment of stakeholders to promoting a healthy and drug-free society among Ghana’s youth.

The PM Cup soccer competition is expected to run for several weeks, with teams competing for the coveted trophy.
