Ghana Catholic Bishops Pay Courtesy Call on Damongo Wura, Strengthening Church-Traditional Ties

 

The Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief of the Damongo Traditional Area, Damongo Wura Seidu Kelly Boresa I, as part of activities leading up to the 2025 Plenary Assembly in Damongo.

This visit underscores the strong bond between the Church and traditional leadership in promoting peace and development.

 

During the visit, the Bishops and the Damongo Wura exchanged goodwill and mutual respect, setting a tone of collaboration and unity.

Following the meeting, the Bishops embarked on a tour of the Mole National Park and the historic Larabanga Mystic Mosque, appreciating the rich cultural and natural heritage of the Savannah Region.

This year’s Plenary Assembly is scheduled to take place in Damongo from November 7 to 14, 2025.The gathering brings together Catholic Bishops from across Ghana to discuss pressing issues affecting the Church and the nation.
