WEAPONIZING THE GALAMSEY FIGHT WILL PUT GHANA IN A DIRE SITUATION.

Security policy Analyst and a civil freedom activist, Engineer Charles Kwesi Taylor has punched holes in the Government’s plan to weaponize the fight of illegal mining which is known as Galamsey.

According to Mr. Taylor, the involvement of Sophisticated weapons in all aspects of the Nation’s move to end the Canker will rather worsen the situation if the dynamics remain unchanged.

In an exclusive interview with *Oyerepa FM’s Okogyeabour Ocran*, he proposed the use of Symbols, characterising the tragic history of the country involving our forefathers in the fight for freedom and the total emancipation of the people.

Engineer Charles Taylor clarified that, educating the Galamseyers on the real meaning of the colours use to design the national flag will at least send a signal to those involved to understand the pain, the struggle of our ancestors in securing the land for this generation.

This tactics he believes will coil the devastation on our forests, Farms and the water bodies.

His reactions follow the calls on the president to declare a state of emergency on Galamsey by some Commentators and the NPP members.

Analysing this call, Ing. Taylor described how robust those involved in the Galamsey have become, readily set to revenge who ever moves in to stop them with weapons.

He described the plan as *” intentional invitation for war”* which will plunge the nation’s security and peace into Jeopardy.

“*From where I’m sitting, it’s wrong to use weapons in this fight of Galamsey. The reason being that, the cartel involved and those behind these miners have powerful weapons even more than the state’s military or police and that will invite what is Called An intentional War for the nation…”* he said.

In the add up, Engineer suggested Technology involvement in the country’s quest to find solutions to the problem.

He again call for a complete overhaul and serious reforms into the importation of these earth-moving machines to sanitize the system.
