C/R: Nigerian National Arrested for Allegedly Raping 15-Year-Old Girl at Nkwantanan Teachers City

A Nigerian national in his 30s has been arrested and detained at the Awutu District Police Station for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in a bush at Nkwantanan Teachers City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

According to reports, the incident happened while the victim was returning home with her younger sister after accompanying a senior apprentice from her workplace. The suspect allegedly dragged the girl into a bush, covered her mouth, pulled a knife on her, and forcibly had sex with her.

The victim’s mother, Madam Cecilia Krampa, told Oyerepa News correspondent Nana Ansah that her daughter, who is an apprentice seamstress, was attacked on her way home. She explained that the younger sister managed to escape and sought help from an okada rider, but the suspect fled before they returned.

She added that the suspect went into hiding after the act. However, with the assistance of Emmanuel Dogbe, Assemblyman for the Buduburam Electoral Area, and some young men in the community, the suspect was tracked down and handed over to the police on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Meanwhile, Mr. Dogbe has called on the police to conduct thorough investigations to ensure the suspect faces the full rigours of fthe law.
