The Food and Drugs Authority of Ghana has suspended the production of Tasty Tom Tomato Mix due to safety concerns.

A thorough inspection of the manufacturing plant revealed significant lapses, including compromised sealing mechanisms that led to contamination and bloating of the products.

Mold was also detected on some products, raising serious health concerns.

The FDA has initiated a product recall and launched internal investigations to determine if regulatory lapses contributed to the situation.

Nutrifoods, the manufacturer, had previously been barred from producing the product in January 2025 for non-compliance with regulatory standards.

Consumers are advised to check for recalled products and report any concerns or adverse reactions to the FDA.
