A 45-year-old man, Mr. Yaw Badu (also known as Emuede-wu), has died in police custody at the Manso Datano Police Station, sparking widespread outrage.
According to reports, Mr. Badu was arrested on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, following a misunderstanding between him and his tenant.
The deceased’s sister, Mad. Becky, has alleged that her brother was beaten by Manso Datano police officers, which she claims to have witnessed with her own eyes.

She further stated that her brother was granted bail with a bond of GH¢ 1,500 this morning, only to die shortly after in police custody .The circumstances surrounding Mr. Badu’s death are still unclear, and the family is demanding answers from the police.
This incident has raised concerns about police brutality and the treatment of suspects in custody, echoing similar cases in the past where suspects have died under mysterious circumstances while in police custody.
