Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu is urging President John Dramani Mahama to introduce legislation to tackle online insults targeting prominent public figures.

Kwaku Manu cited examples including the President, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and businessmen like Dr. Osei Kwame Despite and Ibrahim Mahama.

“There should be a law to address this issue. Some people on social media insult prominent personalities without any regard. These ill-mannered and undisciplined individuals should face a one-year jail sentence for each insult,” he stated.
