Mortuary Workers Warn of Strike Over Unmet Demands.

The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has issued a warning that its members will go on strike if ongoing negotiations with the government fail to yield tangible results.

The association’s General Secretary, Richard Kofi Jordan, stated this in a recent interview said we want to embark on a strike due to the following requirements:

“Provision of adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and proper ventilation,Resolution of outstanding salary payments,Financial clearance for recruiting 500 new mortuary workers.

Mortuary workers face significant health risks due to inadequate PPE and poor working conditions.”

Jordan emphasized that without proper equipment and ventilation, workers are exposed to viruses and pathogens.

MOWAG temporarily suspended an indefinite strike last year, giving the government time to address their demands.

The association is now awaiting the outcome of negotiations to determine its next course of action.
