Christian Girlies Foundation Launches “Operation 20 Cedis” To Keep 500 Girls In School
The Christian Girlies Foundation has launched a fundraising campaign dubbed “Operation 20 Cedis” to support girl children with sanitary pads and keep them in school.
Under the initiative, 20 Cedis equals one pack of sanitary pads for one girl, with the Foundation targeting to reach 500 girls across communities.
The campaign is driven by a simple but powerful message that no girl should miss school because of her period, and that every effort must be made to keep a girl in school.
According to the Foundation, many girls are forced to stay home during their menstrual periods due to lack of access to sanitary pads, a situation that affects their education, confidence and future.
Through Operation 20 Cedis, the Foundation is calling on individuals, churches, corporate organisations, philanthropists and well-meaning Ghanaians to donate to help provide pads for vulnerable girls and ensure they remain in class throughout the school term.
Members of the public can support the campaign by donating 20 Cedis or more via MoMo, or by donating sanitary pads in kind.
Donations can be sent to 0543993569, in the name of Hannah Henewaah Boakye, or to 0557684904, in the name of Jacinta Owusu-Ansah.
The donation period runs from now till 15th November, and for pads donations and enquiries, the public can contact 0557684904.
The Christian Girlies Foundation, guided by its motto Faith, Prayer, Sisterhood, says it remains committed to empowering the girl child, promoting menstrual hygiene, and ensuring that no girl is left behind because of menstruation.
To support, donate 20 Cedis today and help keep a girl in school.
