BREAKING NEWS: Ahafo Ano South West DCE, Hon. Abubakar Sadik, Reportedly Dead

Mankranso- The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Abubakar Sadik, has reportedly passed away.

Details surrounding his death are still emerging.

According to information emerging from the district and reported by Asaase Radio, Hon. Sadik reportedly died on Sunday evening, September 20, after he was last seen attending a stakeholder engagement with the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, in Kumasi.

The cause of death has not yet been officially disclosed. The District Assembly and family are yet to release an official statement.

Hon. Sadik assumed office as DCE in May 2025 and had been leading several development initiatives in the district, including road rehabilitation, sanitation, education and health-related projects.

Just last week, he had been in the news responding to public concerns over reports that a school building at the district capital, Mankranso, was being demolished to make way for a proposed 24-hour market project.

He was widely known in the district for his grassroots engagement and support for community welfare activities, including his recent support for life-saving medical interventions for residents.
