Offinso South NPP Delegates Allege Voter Register Manipulation, Demand National Intervention.

A group of NPP Delegates the Offinso South Constituency in Ashanti Region have expressed dissatisfaction over alleged irregularities in the party’s electoral register and album compilation process, accusing constituency executives for the unfair removal of their names from the delegates’ register.

Addressing a press conference in Offinso, former Chairman of the Amoawe D/A Polling Station, Mr. Sulemana Ahmed, voiced concerns over what he described as deliberate attempts to sideline longstanding party members from participating in internal party activities.

According to Mr. Ahmed, several delegates who have dedicated years of service to the NPP were shocked to discover that their names had been omitted from the constituency’s delegates register and album compilation without justification.

He accused the Offinso South Constituency Chairman, Mr. Joe Sala, and the Constituency Secretary, Mr. Nsiah Boakye, for the alleged manipulation of the registration process to favour individuals aligned with their interests.

Mr. Ahmed stated that throughout his years of active involvement in the party, he played a significant role in expanding the NPP’s support base, particularly within the Zongo communities in the constituency.

He argued that the alleged exclusion of committed party members undermines the contributions they have made towards the growth of the party.

He further warned that some aggrieved members are considering their resignation from the NPP if the national leadership fails to intervene and address what they described as a coordinated effort to remove legitimate delegates from the party’s records.

Other affected members who spoke at the press conference also called on the national executives of the NPP to take immediate action to investigate the matter and ensure fairness in the party’s internal processes.

The group additionally appealed to the party’s leadership and the flagbearer of NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to intervene and help resolve the dispute.

They alleged that some individuals believed to have affiliatiowith the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had found their way onto the NPP’s delegates register, raising concerns about the integrity of the party’s internal electoral system.

The aggrieved delegates maintained that failure to address the situation could have negative implicationsfor the party’s unity and electoral prospects.

They therefore urged the national leadership to conduct a thorough review of the delegates register and restore the names of all legitimately affected members.

The group expressed confidence that, the swift intervention from the party’s national executives would help restore trust, unity, and transparency within the Offinso South Constituency.
