“You Dare Not Come to My Palace If Deplorable Roads Persist Before 2028” – Agroyesum Chief Warns Politicians.

The Chief of Agroyesum in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Tabi Agyabeng III, has issued a stern warning to political leaders from both the NDC and NPP not to step foot in his palace to seek his blessings ahead of the 2028 general elections if the deplorable roads in the area are not fixed.

According to the chief, residents across the entire Manso enclave have over the years bitterly complained about the poor nature of roads linking communities in the district, but successive governments have failed to show commitment in addressing the challenge.

Nana Tabi Agyabeng III lamented that the poor road network is having a dire effect on healthcare delivery, particularly at the St. Martin Catholic Hospital at Agroyesum, which serves as a major referral facility for residents in Amansie South and beyond.

He explained that families struggle to transport sick relatives from surrounding communities to the hospital due to the bad roads, a situation he described as dangerous, unacceptable and a threat to lives.

The Agroyesum Chief has therefore called on government to prioritise the rehabilitation of roads in the Manso enclave, stressing that critical road infrastructure should receive urgent attention instead of placing much emphasis on other development initiatives under the 24-Hour Economy programme.

He emphasised that good roads are essential for improving healthcare, transportation, education, agriculture and general economic activities within the Manso enclave.

Nana Tabi Agyabeng III made the remarks when he visited the St. Anthony Catholic Parish at Agroyesum to give thanks to God for saving him from a recent illness.

Meanwhile, some traditional leaders in the Amansie South District have called for unity among traditional authorities to enable them push collectively for government intervention to address the poor road network.

According to them, a united front among Nananom would strengthen their advocacy for the construction and rehabilitation of roads connecting communities within the Manso enclave.
