Retirement Should Not End Your Contribution To District Development – AAK DCE Tells Retired Education Director
By Eric Annan, Central Regional Correspondent
The District Chief Executive for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) in the Central Region, Hon. Daniel Mensah Wardy, has urged the District’s retired Education Director, Ms. Mary Cudjoe, to continue contributing to the development of the district even after retirement.
According to the DCE, retirement from active public service should not truncate service to the community but should mark the beginning of another phase where her wealth of experience and expertise can continue to benefit the people.
Hon. Wardy made the appeal at a send-off ceremony organised to honour Ms. Cudjoe for her years of dedicated service to education in the AAK District.
He noted that experienced professionals remain valuable assets to their communities after leaving active service and encouraged Ms. Cudjoe to continue sharing her knowledge and professional counsel with the District Assembly, especially in education, youth development and human capital development.
The Central Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Juliette Dufie Otami, who graced the occasion, also commended Ms. Cudjoe for her dedication and commitment during her tenure as District Education Director.
She said even though Ms. Cudjoe is retiring from the Ghana Education Service, any initiative she brings to enhance education in the district would be warmly embraced.
Ms. Cudjoe, in her response, expressed gratitude to the Assembly, the Education Directorate and stakeholders for the support during her service.
