PROMISE FULFILLED: OGYEAHOHO FURNISHES 3-BEDROOM TEACHERS’ QUARTERS AT QUEENS GIRLS SHS

The Paramount Chief of Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, has fulfilled his promise to furnish a newly built 3-bedroom teachers’ quarters at Queens Girls Senior High School.

The teachers’ bungalow was constructed by Elder Prince, a philanthropist, to help address accommodation challenges facing teachers of the school. Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II had earlier pledged to fully furnish the building to make it habitable for teachers.

Fulfilling that pledge, the revered chief has provided all the needed items to make the quarters comfortable.

A delegation led by the Atipemhene of Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Nana Kwadwo Bonyah, presented the items on behalf of Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II. The items included mattresses, refrigerators, sets of sofas, wardrobes, and an oven to fully furnish the three bedrooms.

Speaking during the presentation, Nana Kwadwo Bonyah said Ogyeahoho remains committed to supporting education and teacher welfare within his traditional area and beyond, adding that quality education thrives when teachers are given a conducive environment to work and live.

Also part of the delegation was Nana Ekyea Kwasi III, Abakomahemaa of Tanoso Praso. She charged the beneficiary teachers to take good care of the items and to continue giving their best to the students. She also entreated learners of Queens Girls SHS to study hard to justify the investment being made in their future.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Assistant Headmistress in charge of Administration, Madam Theodora Osabo, expressed profound gratitude to Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II for his timely intervention and kind gesture.

She described the support as a huge relief to the school, noting that teacher accommodation has been a major challenge.

Madam Osabo, however, used the opportunity to appeal to government, NGOs, philanthropists and old students to come to the aid of the school with other pressing infrastructural needs, including an assembly hall, a dining hall, and additional dormitories to ease congestion and improve academic work.

The gesture by Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II has been widely lauded by staff and students of Queens Girls SHS as a demonstration of true leadership and commitment to educational development.
