Offinso South MP Commissions Classroom Block and Toilet Facility at Abofour Old Town

The Member of Parliament for Offinso South, Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku, has commissioned a three-unit classroom block and a 20-seater modern water closet toilet facility at Abofour Old Town in the Ashanti Region.
The projects, which include a three-unit classroom block with a staff common room and headteacher’s office at Abofour Old Town New Life Basic School and a 20-seater WC toilet facility in the community, are aimed at improving educational infrastructure and sanitation.
The commissioning ceremony attracted traditional leaders, opinion leaders, school authorities, students and residents of Abofour Old Town and beyond.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku said the projects form part of his broader development agenda for Offinso South, with education and sanitation as key priorities.
He said the classroom block will help address infrastructure challenges facing Abofour Old Town New Life Basic School and provide a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
On sanitation, the MP noted that the modern toilet facility will help improve hygiene, curb open defecation and promote healthy living among residents.
Dr. Opoku urged the school authorities and the community to adopt a strong maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the facilities.
He reiterated his commitment to continue to lobby and initiate more development projects to address the needs of constituents and pledged to do even more should the New Patriotic Party (NPP) return to power after the 2028 general elections.
Traditional leaders and the headteacher of Abofour Old Town New Life Basic School commended the MP for the interventions, describing them as timely responses to long-standing challenges facing the school and the community, while appealing for additional support to further improve conditions in the area.
