NDC Garu: Samuel Laari Yalkwa Picks Ballot Number 11 After Successful Vetting, Says Number Holds Deep Spiritual Meaning

Garu, Upper East Region– Mr. Samuel Laari Yalkwa, an Executive Member hopeful for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Garu Constituency, has successfully gone through vetting and picked Ballot Number 11 ahead of the Constituency Executive Elections.

Addressing the media after the vetting exercise on Saturday, September 27, 2026, Mr. Yalkwa expressed gratitude to God and to all who have supported him throughout his journey.

“Today, 27th September 2026, I am grateful to God for successfully going through the vetting process. I sincerely appreciate everyone who has supported, encouraged, and prayed for me throughout this journey,” he stated.

Mr. Yalkwa, popularly known as SLY, said he received Ballot Number 11 with humility and a deep sense of responsibility.

According to him, Number 11 holds special significance. He explained that Joseph was the 11th son of Jacob, and after Judas Iscariot’s departure, eleven disciples remained to continue Christ’s mission.

He added that in football, the starting eleven take the field to play their part in the game.

“I therefore see Ballot Number 11 as a reminder of faith, responsibility, teamwork, perseverance, and purpose as I take my place in this political game of service and representation,” he said.

Outlining his vision, Mr. Yalkwa said his commitment is to provide accessible, responsive, and effective leadership, strengthen grassroots structures, promote unity and active participation, and ensure that the voices and aspirations of delegates and grassroots members are meaningfully represented for victory in 2028.

“I humbly seek your continued support, prayers, and partnership as we embark on this collective journey,” he appealed.

He concluded with a rallying call to delegates: “The vetting has been successfully completed. Ballot Number 11 has been picked.
