Maintain and Protect the New Classroom Block for Future Generations — Jaman South MCE”
Kofiko, Bono Region – The Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Siata Watara, has commissioned a newly constructed three-unit classroom block with toilet and urinal facilities for the Kofiko M/A Primary School in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region.
The project, aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions and enhancing access to quality basic education in the community, was officially handed over at a colorful ceremony that brought together traditional leaders, education officials, teachers, pupils, and community members.
Commissioning the facility, Hon. Siata Watara underscored the importance of education as the foundation for development and reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to investing in educational infrastructure across the municipality.
She urged pupils, teachers, and community members to cultivate a strong culture of maintenance and take proper care of the facility to ensure it serves its purpose for a long time.
“This classroom block is for you and for generations yet unborn. I appeal to you to maintain and protect it so that it remains useful to the school and the community for many years to come,” the MCE stated.
On his part, the Chief of Kofiko, Nana Yaw Sawiri, expressed profound gratitude to the Jaman South Municipal Assembly and the MCE for the intervention, describing it as a major relief for the school which had been grappling with infrastructure challenges.
He however appealed to the Assembly and the Ghana Education Service to urgently provide furniture to equip the newly constructed classrooms to enable pupils to study in comfort.
“I want to thank the MCE for this beautiful edifice. Our only appeal now is for furniture to fill the classrooms so our children can learn comfortably,” Nana Yaw Sawiri said.
The Jaman South Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Emmanuel Kweku Nyarko, commended the Assembly for complementing the efforts of the Education Directorate and called on parents in Kofiko and surrounding communities to enroll their children in the school.
He encouraged residents to support teachers posted to the community and to promptly channel any concerns regarding the management of the school through the appropriate structures for redress.
Mr. Nyarko also advised pupils to make conscious efforts to speak English as their everyday language of communication both in school and at home, to help improve their proficiency and academic performance.
The new classroom block is expected to ease congestion, improve sanitation, and create a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning at Kofiko M/A Primary School.
