Feed Ghana Deputy Coordinator Hails 2 Years of Economic Growth, Corruption-Free Governance

Deputy Coordinator of the Feed Ghana Programme in charge of Institutional Farming, Hon. Gordon Asubonteng, has lauded the NDC government for what he describes as focused leadership, economic recovery and corruption-free governance in its nearly two years in office.

Speaking on the performance of the administration led by President John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Asubonteng said the government has distinguished itself by running a clean administration without any major corruption scandal.

According to him, the absence of major scandals within the period is a clear indication of the President’s commitment to good governance and accountability.

He also welcomed the recent profit-margin reports on State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) released by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).

Hon. Asubonteng noted that several SOEs that were previously operating at a loss have now returned to profitability, a development he described as a positive sign of improved economic management and prudent supervision of state assets.

“The SOEs that were running at losses are now making profits. That tells you that the economy is being managed well,” he stated.

He urged Ghanaians to continue to support the government of President Mahama, stressing that the administration has demonstrated good and clean governance.

Despite the achievements chalked so far, Hon. Asubonteng admitted that not all sectors have seen significant progress, adding that there is still room for improvement.

He explained that as human institutions, it is impossible for everything to be perfect, and therefore welcomed constructive criticism from the public.

According to him, such feedback will help the President and his appointees identify lagging areas and do more to accelerate national development and consolidate the gains made.
