Dormaa Central MCE’s Office Clarifies GH¢0.50 Pragya Fare Increment

The Office of the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, has clarified the controversy surrounding the GH¢0.50 increment in Pragya fares in the municipality.

The adjustment moves the basic fare from GH¢2.50 to GH¢3.00.

Spokesperson to the MCE, Hon. Fosu Kyei Kingsford, said discussions on the fare adjustment had been ongoing for some time, with the Assembly reaching an agreement with the Pragya Riders Association executives to adjust fares to help sustain their operations.

He said an official communiqué is expected by the end of the week to confirm the new fares.

Hon. Kingsford explained that while there will be some adjustments on routes from Dormaa Ahenkro to other communities, the Assembly’s decision seeks to balance the interests of both passengers and riders, with GH¢3.00 generally approved for town services.
