Newly elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, John Boadu, has urged party members to bury their differences and unite for the task ahead.
Addressing delegates after his election at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, Mr Boadu said internal competition must give way to collective rebuilding.
“Let us choose unity over division,” he declared.
Mr Boadu, who polled 2,888 votes to beat Boakye Agyarko (2,408), Paul Afoko (790) and Sammy Crabbe (41), said his win is not a personal triumph but a call to duty.
“Today is not a day of victory but a day of responsibility and great unity,” he stated.
He told the new executives that they must serve all members, including those who supported losing aspirants, and called on unsuccessful candidates to remain committed, noting their ideas and experience are still needed to consolidate the party’s structures.
He pledged to lead with humility and consultation: “We will serve with humility, lead through consultation, work with every part of our party, and dedicate this mandate to restoring the winning machinery of our great party.”
Boadu will work with General Secretary Justin Kodua, Vice Chairmen Kojo Fosu Boadu, Henry Nana Boakye and Nana Akomea, National Organiser Daniel Titus-Glover, Women’s Organiser Hawa Koomson and Youth Organiser Abanga Fuseini Yakubu as the NPP eyes a comeback in 2028.
