GNFS Successfully Contains Fire at Madina Ritz Junction
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully contained a fast-spreading fire at Madina Ritz Junction on July 15, 2025. The fire broke out at 7:00 p.m. and was reported to the GNFS, which responded within four minutes.
Firefighters from Madina, Legon, and Abelemkpe stations worked together to bring the blaze under control by 7:50 p.m. and fully extinguished it by 9:43 p.m.
The fire destroyed several wooden structures used for residential and commercial purposes, but nearby properties were salvaged thanks to the swift intervention of the firefighters.
Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were recorded, despite initial reports suggesting a possible casualty.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, with some eyewitnesses speculating that a gas explosion might have started the fire.
The GNFS commended the firefighters for their courage and professionalism in handling the situation, emphasizing the importance of fire safety awareness in high-risk communities.
The incident has left many residents without homes or livelihoods, with some appealing for government support to rebuild their lives.
