VETTING COMMITTEE’S SITTING: DEPUTY RANKING MEMBER ON PARLIAMENT’S FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE QUESTIONS GOVERNMENT’S PLAN TO END ALLEGED PASSPORT FRAUD.
The Honorable member of Parliament for Bosome Freho Constituency in the Ashanti region who double as the deputy ranking member on the Foreign Affairs committee of Parliament, Nana Kwame Asafo Agyei Ayeh has questioned government’s plans to end the ALLEGED Passport Frauds in the Country.
At the vetting of the deputy Minister designate for Foreign Affairs and the Legislator for Assin North James Gyakyi Quaison, Hon. Nana Kwame Asafo Agyei Ayeh bemoaned the reports of extortion at the passport offices and the alleged issuance of Ghanaian passport to foreigners.
This According to him demands an ‘iron Fixed hands to clamp down the menace.
Hon. Asafo Agyei’s question premised on the report by the Foreign Affairs ministry on leakages at the various Embassies, leading to corruption and corruption related practices that has exerted an undue pressure on poor Ghanaians in Passport acquisition.
He therefore assured the ministry with the Committee’s unwavering commitment and support to curb the situation.
Touching on the recent rift between Ghana and the United states of America, leading to an arduous entry of a Ghanaian to the states, Hon. Nana Kwame Asafo Agyei Ayeh urged the Deputy minister nominee to employ all the diplomatic means to engage the U.S.A Embassy to end the diplomatic tussles between Ghana and the United states.
