Two Men Banished from Tamale Community for Stealing Goats

Two Men Banished from Tamale Community for Stealing Goats.

The Chief of Chogu in Tamale has banished two men, Nafiwu Bakar and Rashid Yussif, from the community for stealing goats.

The suspects, both residents of Damongo in the Savannah Region, were apprehended by a local vigilante taskforce while attempting to steal goats in the area.

Nafiwu Bakar, a National Service personnel with the Bole Forestry Commission, and Rashid Yussif were caught red-handed and handed over to traditional authorities instead of the police.

The suspects confessed to the crime, claiming they were acting under instructions from unidentified individuals who promised to pay them for the stolen livestock.

However, their explanation didn’t convince the traditional leaders, who cited their growing reputation for petty crimes.

The Chief of Chogu emphasized the need to send a strong message to deter similar behavior, underscoring his commitment to preserving law and order in the community.

“The safety and peace of our people must always come first,” he said.

The banishment of the two men serves as a warning to others that criminal conduct will not be tolerated in the community.

The incident highlights the importance of community policing and collaboration with law enforcement agencies to maintain law and orders.
