KNUST Announces Re-Opening Dates For 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has announced new re-opening arrangements for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This is contained in Official Notice No. 4/26 issued by the Office of the Registrar on 14th October, 2026.

According to the notice, following an Emergency Executive Committee Meeting held on Wednesday, 14th October 2026, the University wishes to inform all students, parents/guardians and other stakeholders of the revised dates as follows:

– Freshmen: Thursday, 15th October, 2026
– Continuing Students: Saturday, 17th October, 2026
– Lectures begin: Monday, 19th October, 2026

The notice, signed by E. T. Otieku, Deputy Registrar, General Administration, for the Registrar, advised all students, parents/guardians and stakeholders to take note of the revised arrangements accordingly.

“The University appreciates the understanding, patience and cooperation of all stakeholders,” the statement added.

The notice has been copied to the Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Finance Officer, Provosts, Directors, Deans, Deputy Registrars, SRC and GRASAG Presidents, and other university officials.
