The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Offinso South, Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah, has applauded the Member of Parliament for Offinso South, Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku, for commissioning numerous development projects across the municipality.
The projects commissioned include a 3-unit classroom block with teachers’ common room and headmaster’s office at Abofour Old Town New Life JHS, a 20-seater modern water closet toilet facility at Abofour Old Town, a 20-seater modern water closet toilet facility at Offinso-Dentin, a market at Namong, and a mechanized water system at Namong.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremonies, the MCE described the MP’s developmental efforts as marvellous and worthy of commendation.
Hon. Owusu Amoah cautioned that political differentiation and partisanship bring downfall and retard development in the municipality.
According to him, development must come first, stressing that Ghana’s interest should override partisan considerations.
“Ghana first when it comes to development. Offinso South must not sit down to see politics destroy our development, NO,” he stated.
The MCE disclosed that even though he and the MP belong to different political parties, they have resolved to work together for the sake of the development of Offinsoman.
He promised to collaborate with the MP to bring unity and accelerate development in the municipality and urged all politicians in the area to put aside their political differences and work together for the common good.
On the school project at Abofour Old Town New Life JHS, Hon. Owusu Amoah appealed to the MP to consider ceding a similar project he had promised at Odiifoc Nkansah, noting that the Assembly would take up that project.
“For the good works the NPP MP Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku has done in the municipality, it is marvellous. Therefore, the school project at Odiifoc Nkansah which the MP promised to build, I am pleading with him to take our humble plea – I will build for them – so he should take the project to another community. He is doing well,” the MCE added.
He reiterated his commitment to work hand-in-hand with all stakeholders to promote peace, unity and sustainable development in Offinso South.
