Don’t Keep Breast Cancer Patients At Prayer Camps; Refer Them To Hospitals – Apostle Dr. Samuel Amagashi Cautions Pastors
The Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Amagashi Herbal Hospital, Apostle Dr. Samuel Amagashi, has cautioned pastors and operators of prayer camps against keeping breast cancer patients at their camps instead of referring them to hospitals for proper medical attention.
According to him, delaying medical treatment while relying solely on spiritual intervention could allow the disease to progress and put the lives of patients at risk.
Apostle Dr. Amagashi made the call while speaking to journalists as part of activities to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
He urged women who notice unusual changes in their breasts to seek medical attention promptly, rather than waiting until the condition becomes severe.
He explained that breast cancer is a medical condition that requires proper diagnosis and treatment and should not automatically be attributed to curses, enemies or supernatural forces. He stressed that although people may seek spiritual support, such support should not replace medical care.
He said patients should report to health facilities as soon as they notice unusual changes in their breasts to enable health professionals to conduct the necessary examinations and begin early treatment.
Apostle Dr. Amagashi also cautioned breast cancer patients against waiting until the disease reaches an advanced stage before seeking medical assistance.
He encouraged women to undergo regular breast screening and to cultivate the habit of self-examination to help identify possible abnormalities early.
According to him, some women who notice symptoms attribute them to curses or spiritual attacks and resort to prayer camps, only visiting hospitals when the disease has progressed.
He also urged women to make regular breast self-examination part of their routine and to pay close attention to any changes in their breasts.
He further advised women to take their reproductive and general health seriously, while encouraging couples to support each other in monitoring their health.
Apostle Dr. Amagashi urged women who choose herbal treatment to seek guidance from qualified practitioners and, importantly, not to delay appropriate medical care.
He appealed for increased public education on breast cancer to help dispel misconceptions surrounding the disease and encourage early detection and treatment.
