Issues-Based Communication Won NDC Victory In Dormaa East After 24 Years In Opposition, I Will Sustain It – Deputy Communications Officer Aspirant
Issues-based communication rather than insults and personal attacks secured the National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory in the 2024 general elections in Dormaa East after 24 years in opposition.
The Dormaa East NDC Deputy Communications Officer aspirant, Mr. Adom Joshua, who stated this, said he would continue with that approach if elected.
Mr. Joshua said the party’s Communications Department requires experienced and competent communicators to strengthen its messaging ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He pledged to promote issue-based communication while discouraging hate speech and personal attacks against political opponents, noting that the 2028 elections would be highly competitive and would require a robust communications team capable of effectively explaining the NDC’s ideology and policies to voters.
Mr. Joshua added that delegates in Dormaa East are demanding evidence of work done and contributions of both incumbent and non-executive aspirants towards the NDC’s 2024 electoral victory, stressing that campaign messages based on personal attacks are not welcomed.
He said his track record meets the expectations of delegates, considering his contribution to the party’s 2024 success, and expressed confidence that prevailing conditions are favourable for his victory.
He also promised to organize regular training and workshops for branch communication officers, in collaboration with the substantive Communications Officer, to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
According to him, strengthening communication at the branch level will help improve the party’s messaging, effectively communicate its policies and ideology, and better position the NDC ahead of the 2028 elections.
