Concerned Citizen Questions Offinso North DCE Over Deteriorating Sewua-Mfante Road And Idle DRIP Machines

A concerned citizen of Offinso North in the Ashanti Region, Wofa Kwame, has written an open letter to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Caesar Ofosu Acheampong, over the deteriorating state of the Sewua-Mfante road and other roads in the district.

In the letter, Wofa Kwame described the condition of the Sewua-Mfante road and several other roads in the district as unacceptable, noting that a video in circulation, reportedly filed by a member of the ruling party, clearly depicts the suffering residents endure daily.

According to him, thanks to the initiative of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Offinso North District has been provided with DRIP machines specifically to help address road challenges at the district level.

He however questioned why the machines have been left idle while roads in communities including Afrancho, Sewua-Mfante, Nkubesa, Apaaso, Akonom, Seseko, Buraso, Ntonsa, Menesono and parts of Nsenoa continue to deteriorate.

“But the question residents are asking is simple: Why are the machines sitting idle while roads in Afrancho, Sewua-Mfante, Nkubesa, Apaaso, Akonom, Seseko, Buraso, Ntonsa, Menesono and parts of Nsenoa continue to deteriorate? Hon. DCE and the DRIP Coordinator, are you really concerned about the people, or are the machines only there to be seen?” he queried.

Wofa Kwame stressed that residents of Offinso North do not need excuses but demand action to get the machines working and their roads fixed.

Efforts to get a response from the DCE and the DRIP Coordinator were unsuccessful as at the time of filing this report.
