Youths in Offinso North’s Nkenkaasu Express Disappointment Over Fertilizer Distribution and Broken Promises.

Some youths in the Offinso North constituency, specifically in Nkenkaasu, have expressed deep disappointment and frustration with the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Caesar, over the distribution of fertilizers under the government’s Feed Ghana initiative.

The youths claim that the distribution process has been politicized, with some partisans receiving fertilizers despite not being farmers.

According to the youths, they were left out of the benefits of the “Planting for Food and Jobs” policy, and despite promises made by Hon. Caesar to support Nkabom Yɛ Rice Farms and other individuals under the Feed Ghana project, nothing has materialized.

The youths are now calling on the government and stakeholders and the agric minister and the Hon DCE Caeser Ofosu Acheampong to fulfill their promises and take responsibility for supporting the youth in agriculture.

The youths warned that if the government fails to support them in farming activities, they may be forced to engage in galamsey (illegal mining) to make ends meet, especially if the government is serious about stopping galamsey.

They emphasized that the government needs to find ways to support the youth in agriculture to prevent them from turning to illegal activities for survival.
