Youth Activist Alhaji Sisco Urges Collective Action Against Drug Abuse in Upper West
A youth activist, Alhaji Sisco, has called on residents of the Upper West region to join forces in the fight against drug abuse, which has become a menace in the area.
Speaking at a stakeholder engagement organized by the Upper West Drug Abuse Task Force, Sisco emphasized the need for collective action to tackle the issue.
Alhaji Sisco disclosed that he and his team have already started seizing drugs from suppliers and have identified 18 key individuals who are bringing drugs to the region. He urged residents to support the security agencies in the fight against drug abuse.
Sisco lamented that the failure to fight drug abuse in the region is partly due to residents condoning the miscreants in the name of being relatives.
He argued that this attitude has contributed to the increasing rate of drug abuse in the region.
The youth activist called on stakeholders to support the fight against drug abuse, emphasizing that it should not be left in the hands of one person or institution.
He urged residents to join forces with security agencies to tackle the menace and create a safer and healthier community.
