Urgent Search Underway for Missing 18-Month-Old Baby in Wa

The Upper West Regional Police Command is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an 18-month-old baby named Gafaru Jalilu, who went missing on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at approximately 5:30 pm in the Kumbeihi section of the Wa Municipality.

The police are urging anyone with information about Gafaru’s whereabouts to report to the Station Officer/Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit. All efforts by the child’s relatives to find him have been unsuccessful, prompting the police to seek public assistance.

The police have launched an investigation into the child’s disappearance and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

There are reports that the child might have fallen into a manhole, and fears are growing that the child might be dead. The police have moved to the scene to commence investigations.
