Tragic Accident on Kumasi-Accra Highway Claims 15 Lives
A devastating accident occurred on the Atwedie stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 28, involving a vehicle carrying members of the Saviour Church of Ghana and a fuel tanker.
The collision has claimed the lives of approximately 15 church members who were returning to Obogu in the Asante Akyem South Municipality after attending their annual meeting in the Eastern Region.
– A head-on collision between the church vehicle and the fuel tanker resulted in multiple fatalities at the scene.
– Emergency services, including police and fire officers, are currently managing the situation and transporting the bodies to a nearby morgue.
The Ghana Police Service and other emergency responders are on the scene, working to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are expected to commence soon.
