Three Nigerian Nationals Arrested for Alleged Murder of Taxi Driver in Aflao
A gruesome murder case has been recorded in Prampram and Dzodze, after a Ghanaian taxi driver, Patrick Tetteh, was brutally killed by three Nigerian nationals who hired him for a trip to Aflao.
The suspects allegedly murdered Patrick near Dzodze and attempted to flee with his vehicle, but their plan was foiled thanks to the vigilance of officers at a regional security checkpoint.
According to police sources and eyewitness accounts, Patrick, a well-known taxi driver based in Prampram, picked up the three Nigerian men who requested a long-distance trip to Aflao, a border town in the Volta Region.
The journey turned tragic near Dzodze, where Patrick was allegedly murdered and buried in a nearby bush. The suspects then attempted to flee with Patrick’s car, but one of them was stopped and arrested by police personnel at a regional security checkpoint.
The suspect’s suspicious behavior and lack of proper vehicle documents prompted further investigation.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the killing and later led investigators to the exact location in Dzodze where Patrick Tetteh’s lifeless body was found. A nationwide manhunt has been launched to apprehend the two remaining suspects.
The community continues to mourn the loss of Patrick, a respected and hardworking driver. The incident has shaken the conscience of the nation, highlighting the vulnerability of transport workers in the face of growing insecurity along major route.
