Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital to Host Free Surgeries
Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital in Mampong-Akuapem, Eastern Region, Ghana, is set to host a series of free surgeries from September 22nd to 26th, 2025.
The hospital has announced that a team of surgeons from the United States, in collaboration with the hospital’s surgical team, will be conducting the surgeries.
The free surgeries will include:
– Hernias
– Hysterectomy
– Plastic Surgery (Burns/scar on the hands).
Screening for these conditions will take place at the hospital from July 22nd, 2025, to September 21st, 2025. Patients are required to come with a valid National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) card.
While the surgeries are free, patients will be responsible for the costs of labs, imaging (x-rays), scans, oxygen, and some medications.
The hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr. Kofi Ablorh, has expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to provide these free surgeries to the community.
This initiative is expected to bring much-needed medical relief to those in need.
