Storm Hits St. Gregory the Great Catholic Chaplaincy, UPSA: Tent Collapses on Christ the King Feast.
A dramatic incident occurred on November 23, 2024, at the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Chaplaincy, University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), as a storm brought down the 400-capacity tent dedicated exactly a year ago.

Miraculously, no lives were lost, although the Choir Secretary and Mass Servers President were affected.
The Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Anthony Amponsah Afriyie, a clinical psychologist at Legon, expressed gratitude that everyone was safe.
In a heartfelt message, he reassured the congregation that despite the setback, their faith, unity, and mission remain unshaken.

“JESUS OUR KING still reigns — in our courage, our resilience, and our love for one another,” said Fr. Anthony Amponsah Afriyie. “Let us stand firm. Let us not lose heart.
What fell today, we will rebuild. And by God’s grace, we will build it stronger, safer, and even more beautiful than before.”

The community is rallying behind the rebuilding efforts, inspired by their faith and determination.
As Rev Fr. Anthony Amponsah Afriyie aptly put it, “Because JESUS IS KING and His reign cannot be shaken.”
