Stop False Prophecies, Pray for Salvation Instead” – Rev. Fr. Edward Yeboah Biney Advises
The Parish Priest of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Abofour, Rev. Fr. Edward Yeboah Biney, has cautioned Christians and Ghanaians against spreading false prophecies, particularly those claiming to have received revelations about individuals or groups.
According to Rev. Fr. Biney, when God reveals something to an individual, it doesn’t necessarily mean the person is doomed.
Instead, it could be a call to prayer, either individually or collectively, to intercede for the person’s salvation without necessarily alarming them.
The priest expressed concern over some self-proclaimed prophets who claim to have received revelations about people who have died or fallen victim to certain circumstances, only to broadcast these claims on radio, TV, and social media without praying for the person’s salvation.
He encouraged that such actions can create unnecessary fear and panic, potentially leading to devastating consequences.
Rev. Fr. Edward Yeboah Biney emphasized the importance of prayer and intercession in the face of challenges, rather than hastily declaring doom or disaster.
He reminded his audience that their problems today can be a means of spiritual growth and crossing over to a better tomorrow.
This advice echoes the sentiments of many religious leaders who have spoken out against the dangers of false prophecies and the importance of prayerful discernment.
By prioritizing prayer and intercession, individuals can cultivate a deeper sense of spiritual maturity and trust in God’s providence.
As people of faith, it’s essential to approach claims of revelations and prophecies with caution and discernment. Rather than spreading fear and panic, let’s focus on praying for one another and trusting in God’s goodness and sovereignty.
By doing so, we can build stronger, more resilient communities that are grounded in faith and love.
